Yann Vasnier

Born and raised in the picturesque Brittany countryside, Yann Vasnier's love of fragrance was ignited by the lush gardens surrounding his family home. As a young man, he became further captivated by the world of perfumery during visits to the Divine House in Dinard. Determined to turn his passion into a career, Vasnier focused his studies on passing the perfumer's exam. His hard work and dedication ultimately led to his acceptance into Quest International (now part of Givaudan) and admission to the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles. There, he had the unique opportunity to learn from the legendary perfumer Francoise Caron.

After joining Givaudan, Vasnier quickly gained a reputation as a talented and innovative perfumer. His remarkable creativity and craftsmanship led to collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry. Vasnier was instrumental in creating two iconic fragrances for Marc Jacobs: Lola (in collaboration with Calice Becker ) and Bang. These fragrances were commercially successful and contributed to a shift in the perfume world from celebrity-driven lines to designer brands.

In addition to his work for Marc Jacobs, Vasnier has developed fragrances for a diverse range of prestigious brands, including Six Scents, Parfums DelRae, Tom Ford , Divine, Donna Karan, and Comme des Garçons. Despite his remarkable achievements, Vasnier remains relatively unknown outside the circle of international elites.

Vasnier's approach to perfume creation is rooted in his upbringing, where he was inspired by the natural beauty of the Breton countryside and the art of scent. His work is characterized by an adventurous spirit and a dedication to exploring new avenues in perfumery. This has enabled him to develop a distinctly modern and refined style in his fragrance compositions.

He often draws inspiration from his love of aromatic plants and the blend of art and science inherent in perfumery. Vasnier's playful personality and dedication to pushing the boundaries of fragrance creation have resulted in several innovative and memorable perfumes.

As perfumer for Givaudan, Vasnier's talent and cutting-edge approach have been instrumental in the success of many renowned fragrances. His close friendship with designer Marc Jacobs has also opened doors to new opportunities and collaborations, further cementing his status as a sought-after perfumer in the industry.
