Frank Voelkl

Frank Voelkl is a Senior Perfumer at Firmenich, with over 20 years of experience in the fragrance industry. Born and raised in Germany, Frank was always drawn to fragrances and had a keen sense of smell from an early age. He still remembers the pungent smells of the farm and the fresh rain on his uncle’s farm that left a lasting impression on him.

After spending his formative years in France and the Netherlands, Frank deepened his interest in fragrance. He remembers the rich, warm chypres his mother wore in Paris, as well as the bold and daring statement scents of the 80s. It was during this period that Frank himself began wearing fragrances and began to think about a career in perfumery.

Frank followed his passion for fragrance by studying at the prestigious ISIPCA in France, where he composed his first fragrance, a tiare flower. This fragrance was a tribute to his Tahitian wife and marked the beginning of his journey as a perfumer.

As a modern-day adventurer, Frank is always looking for new experiences and draws inspiration from his travels to French Polynesia. He describes the intoxicating air of the islands as "infused with the colours and scents of nature in its purest form". For Frank, the natural beauty and abundance of French Polynesia is an endless source of inspiration.

Frank is a quiet yet charismatic man who believes in creating scents that connect to your soul. He has a deep understanding of the emotional power of scent and strives to create scents that evoke a profound emotional connection. "My goal," he says, "is to create scents that will evoke pure, unadulterated bliss."

Frank's fragrances are beloved by many, including the popular Santal 33 by Le Labo and Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker. He has also created fragrances for prestigious brands such as Guerlain , Dolce&Gabbana and Hugo Boss , among others.
