With over two decades of experience in the fragrance industry, Laudamiel has worked with some of the most prominent companies including Procter & Gamble, Fragrance Resources and International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF).

Laudamiel’s passion for chemistry and perfume creation began early, after winning the French National Chemistry Olympiad in 1986. He studied mathematics and physics at the Lycée Blaise Pascal in Clermont-Ferrand and earned a master’s degree in chemistry from the European Higher Institute of Chemistry in Strasbourg, France. Laudamiel continued his studies as a Procter & Gamble Teaching Fellow, teaching chemistry in 1991 and beginning a PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. However, he left the program after a year to become a chemistry assistant at Harvard University.

In 1994, Laudamiel joined the Procter & Gamble Creative Perfumery School in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, where he studied under Principle Perfumer Allan McRitchie and Senior Perfumer Christine Cahen. He received his Diploma in Creative Perfumery in 1997 from the Procter & Gamble European Centre in Brussels, Belgium, under the supervision of Principle Perfumer Robert Lecoq and Senior Perfumers Catherine Ganahl and Hugo Denutte. Laudamiel was soon promoted to Senior Perfumer by Society Master Perfumer Rafael Trujillo, Victor Mills's principal mentor.

In 1999, Laudamiel received the Procter & Gamble Special Recognition Award for his work in fragrance creation, particularly in fabric softeners, and for his discoveries of new fragrance molecules and technologies. He then briefly studied fine perfume creation with Master Perfumer Pierre Bourdon in 1999-2000 before joining International Flavors & Fragrances in Manhattan in 2000. Here he worked with perfumer legends Carlos Benaim , Sophia Grojsman and Pierre Wargnye, further developing his skills.

Throughout his career, Laudamiel has created some of the most popular fragrances on the market, including Ralph Lauren Polo Blue , Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce and Tom Ford Amber Absolute. He has also collaborated with brands such as Clinique, Estée Lauder, Michael Kors, Mugler and Tommy Hilfiger .

In addition to his work in the fragrance industry, Laudamiel is also co-founder and president of the non-profit Academy of Perfumery and Aromatics, and in 2019 was appointed Chief Perfumer at BélAir Lab in Tokyo, a perfume composition and technology studio newly operated by Rohto Pharmaceuticals.
