Annie Buzantian

Annie Buzantian is a highly acclaimed Master Perfumer with decades of experience in the perfume industry. She has been part of the Firmenich family since 1972, when she joined as the company’s first trainee perfumer. During her tenure, she has created over 90 fragrances, many of which have become classics in perfumery history.

A childhood spent on the Romanian coast and in the forests of Lebanon brought Annie Buzantian into contact with the natural world. Annie developed a deep appreciation for the natural world and the beauty of the senses. Although she initially had no experience in perfumery, her position as a laboratory assistant at Universal Oil Products (now Givaudan) in the early 1970s led to her discovery of a passion for perfumery. She was soon promoted to junior perfumer, where she was able to learn from the legendary master perfumer Elie Roger.

In 1988, Annie Buzantian was appointed Master Perfumer at Firmenich, becoming the first woman to hold the title.

Annie has collaborated with numerous well-known brands throughout her career, including Tommy Hilfiger , Estée Lauder, Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren . Her creations have helped to boost the fine fragrance market and have earned her multiple awards, including the American Society of Perfumers Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003 and the Fragrance Foundation Perfumer of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.

Fascinated by the limitless possibilities of perfumery, Annie continues to push the boundaries of scent creation and inspire others in the industry. She is truly a master of her craft and a respected figure in the world of perfumery.
