Romano Ricci
Born on May 10, 1978, Romano Ricci comes from a family with deep roots in fashion and perfumery. As the great-grandson of designer Nina Ricci and grandson of Robert Ricci, the nose behind the famous L'air du temps, Romano was born into an already established fashion dynasty. Yet, he was determined to forge his own path in the world of luxury.
Despite his prestigious background, Romano Ricci chose to become a self-taught perfumer. He honed his craft by working for seven years with some of the industry's most prestigious perfumers, such as Francis Kurkdjian , Isabelle Maillebiau, and Pierre Bourdon , before embarking on his own entrepreneurial adventure.
In 2007, Ricci founded the exclusively feminine fragrance brand " Juliette Has a Gun ," which combines romance, modernity, and humor in its approach to perfume creation. Each fragrance is a lesson in seduction and offers a fresh perspective on traditional perfumery. The brand's name is inspired by Shakespeare's innocent Juliet, transposed to the 21st century and armed with a metaphorical gun—a symbol of female liberation and, sometimes, a touch of revenge.
Besides "Juliette Has a Gun," Romano Ricci is also the co-founder of Nose , which shares his vision for creative, intelligent, and distinctively feminine fragrances. For Ricci, perfume is an essential tool of seduction, defining one's style and personality just as much as fashion or makeup.
Romano Ricci's unconventional approach to perfume creation has earned him a reputation as an industry pioneer. He is known for his dryly humorous perfume names, such as "Another Oud," "Mad Madame," " Not a Perfume, " and "Anyway," as well as his intriguing blends of notes. Under his leadership, "Juliette Has a Gun" has become a symbol of modernity and innovation in the world of perfumery since its launch in 2006.
