Olivier Creed

Born in Nice, France, during the Italian occupation of World War II, Olivier Creed grew up in a family with a rich history in the perfume industry. As the sixth-generation perfumer for the House of Creed, Olivier was immersed in the world of fragrance from an early age. He demonstrated an insatiable curiosity and passion for creativity that would later become the driving force behind his career in perfumery.

Olivier's education was not limited to the art of perfumery; he studied art and painting at the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. This artistic background would later play a crucial role in his approach to perfume creation. In addition, Olivier's experiences with the renowned French painter Georges Braque gave him a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of art and scent.

Olivier's career as a perfumer began when he was just 18 years old. Encouraged by his father and grandmother, he took the reins of the family business and focused on the fragrance side. Under his visionary leadership, the House of Creed transformed from a boutique, bespoke perfume house into a globally recognized brand.

Olivier is responsible for some of Creed’s most popular modern fragrances, including Green Irish Tweed, Silver Mountain Water and the iconic Aventus. His unique approach to perfumery, combining traditional techniques with innovative ideas, has earned him the title of “the world’s most elegant perfumer.”

Olivier’s inspiration for fragrances is deeply rooted in his passion for art, travel and nature. He often travels the world to find the best raw materials for his creations, such as the rarest sandalwood from Mysore or the most fragrant lemons from Sicily. This dedication to using only natural ingredients contributes to the exceptional quality of Creed fragrances.

Olivier's artistic background is evident in his approach to perfume creation. He considers each fragrance as a work of art, blending colours, textures and scents to create a masterpiece.

Today, Olivier Creed leads the House of Creed alongside his son, Erwin Creed. Together, they create artisanal fragrances in their factory in Fontainebleau, France. The father-and-son duo share a love of sports, adventure and creativity, which is evident in their work.
