Juliette Karagueuzoglou

Juliette Karagueuzoglou was born into a world of enchanting aromas and discovered her passion for fragrances at a young age. Her first olfactory memories include the smell of her parents’ house, gardens and the distinctive aroma of asphalt after the rain. At the age of thirteen, Juliette realized that perfumery could be a career and decided to become a perfumer one day.

In pursuit of her dream, Juliette obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. She later studied at the prestigious ISIPCA (Institut Supérieur International du Parfum, de la Cosmétique et de l'Aromatique Alimentaire) in France. In 2006, she joined the IFF Perfume School in Grasse, France and New York, where she refined her skills and developed her unique approach to perfumery.

Juliette Karagueuzoglou began her professional journey working for Expressions Parfumées in Grasse. In March 2002, she joined International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) and rose to the rank of Junior Perfumer of Fine Fragrances, Paris, in July 2007. In 2010, she received the Fashion Group International Rising Star Award for her exceptional work and creative talent.

Throughout her career, Juliette has collaborated with several well-known brands, such as Yves Saint Laurent, Salvatore Ferragamo and Giorgio Armani, to name a few. Some of the most popular perfumes she has composed are Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme, Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina and Yves Saint Laurent Tuxedo.

For Juliette Karagueuzoglou, perfumery is an act of generosity. She strives to create olfactory markers that evoke vivid memories, stir emotions and stand the test of time, thus offering a form of eternity. She considers her ideas as concepts and often challenges herself with exercises such as using raw materials that begin with a specific letter.

Juliette draws inspiration from a variety of sources, including photographs, images and the olfactory connections between raw materials. Synesthetic links play an important role in her creative process, allowing her to visualize scents in her mind.

Her collaboration with Memo Paris began by exploring the beauty of woody essences and creating a sandalwood palace in the heart of Sherwood Forest. This unique approach to fragrance development has allowed Juliette to establish a lasting legacy in perfumery.
