Iliad Ermenidis
Ilias Ermenidis is a renowned perfumer known for his remarkable skill in fragrances. Born in Constantinople, Ermenidis spent his early childhood in the city before moving to Athens. His fascination with fragrances began during his summer internships at his father’s flavors and fragrances factory in Istanbul. This passion led him to Paris, where he studied at the prestigious ISIPCA.
Ermenidis was the first perfumer intern hired by the fragrance company Firmenich. He is proud of this fact and has lived his passion with the company ever since, describing it as an “artist in residence”. Ermenidis lived in various countries, including Paris and Geneva, for ten years before moving to New York, where he thrived for 25 years before returning to Paris in 2019.
Ermenidis is a dedicated perfumer who is also passionate about family and fatherhood. He is a generous, warm and extroverted person who enjoys intellectual adventures. His multicultural background has given him a remarkable command of languages, and his Greek heritage is clearly visible in his creations.
Ermenidis' creative process is influenced by art and opera, and he enjoys exploring abstract olfactory forms. He believes that creating a fragrance is a magical and auspicious moment, but that it requires a team effort to bring it to life. His creations combine talent, technique, tireless effort and luck.
Ermenidis has collaborated with several fragrance brands throughout his career, including Gucci , Givenchy , Yves Saint Laurent and Vera Wang. He has composed several popular fragrances, including Gucci by Gucci Eau de Parfum, Vera Wang Princess and Givenchy Pour Homme.
Despite his success, Ermenidis remains humble and passionate about his craft. He continues to search for new horizons, eager to create something beautiful and inspiring.
