Geza Shoe

Geza Schoen is a German perfumer known for his avant-garde and unconventional approach to fragrance creation. Born in Kassel, Germany, he grew up in a creative and stimulating environment, as his father was an art teacher and his mother a kindergarten teacher. Geza's interest in perfumery began while studying chemistry at the University of Heidelberg. After graduating, he began his formal training in perfumery at Haarmann & Riemer (now Symrise), where he learned the art and science of fragrance creation.

Geza's passion for perfumery has led him to collaborate with various brands and artists, including Diesel, Ormonde Jayne, FCUK, Boudicca, and Anat Fritz, to name a few. He is best known for his brand Escentric Molecules, launched in 2006. The brand emphasizes a few aroma molecules with the charisma and depth of character to stand alone. This approach differs from traditional perfumery, which uses a blend of different ingredients to create a scent.

Geza has received numerous awards for his exceptional work in the perfume industry. In 2016, he received the Outstanding Artist Award for Interdisciplinarity; in 2017, he received the Sadakichi Award for Experimental Work with Scent, along with Wolfgang Georgsdorf, for "Osmodrama/Smeller 2.0."

Geza's unique approach to perfumery has earned him cult status and earned him the reputation of a niche fragrance superstar. His work is characterized by a willingness to work with groundbreaking synthetic ingredients and big ideas that challenge the norms of traditional perfumery. Geza's passion for natural ingredients, admiration for perfumery from the 80s and 90s, and distaste for most new "niche" perfumes have made him an iconoclast in the perfume world.
