Benoist Lapouza

Benoist Lapouza is a perfumer whose inspiration comes from his love of nature and his passion for exploring new places and local delicacies. He says: "I feel connected to nature and love to respect it." He creates scents that are like sensual carpets, evoking sea breezes and exotic flavors that linger on the tongue.

Benoist’s creativity is fueled by his travels and the people he meets. He enjoys discovering new ingredients to incorporate into his fragrances, drawing inspiration from everything from Bach’s citrus to Roellinger herbs. He even collaborates with renowned chefs such as Alain Passard, approaching food ingredients to create a symphony of flavors in fragrance compositions.

Benoist strives to balance sensuality with freshness in his fragrances, capturing the sensations of expansiveness, freedom and power that he associates with sailing, diving or even flying a plane.

For Benoist, the creative process involves approaching scent creation as one would approach top, heart and base notes in music to recreate a symphony orchestra. His designs embrace natural mysticism and experimental creativity, resulting in scents that are both beautiful and complex, like a musical crescendo.

Benoist has collaborated with several perfume companies, including Takasago, Quest and Fragrance Resources, before joining the Drom team in 2014. His fragrances include Live Jazz YSL, Dolly Girl by Anna Sui, British Bouquet of Atkinsons, Si Lolita by Lolita Lempicka, Fan di Fendi for men and Acquarossa Fendi, among others.
